PUVA var den behandling jeg fik for min MF. Behandlingen med PUVA går
ud på, at du tager en tablet (Psoralen) en vist antal timer før, du bliver belyst med
UVA-lys. - Der er visse forholdsregler, man skal tage højde for før, under og efter
behandlingen. Disse forholdsregler kan du få hos National Psoriasis Foundation.
Jeg fik behandlinger 4 gange om ugen i ca. 1 år, indtil jeg en dag, efter behandlingen,
blev meget syg. Behandlingen med PUVA ophørte, og fremover fik jeg radium på pletterne,
når de var *aktive*.
Desværre fortalte man mig ikke - tilbage i 1978 - hvad MF/CTCL er for en sygdom,
og at den behandling jeg fik, var en slags kemoterapi (fotokemoterapi). Senere har jeg
lært, at jeg heller ikke var korrekt beskyttet, hverken før, under eller efter
behandlingen. Derfor har jeg forsøgt at finde ud af, hvilke skader denne manglende
beskyttelse kan have forårsaget på min krop. DET er der desværre ingen, der kan svare
på.
Jeg blev ikke tilbudt alternative behandlingsformer - lægen sagde PUVA; og jeg gjorde jo
bare, hvad lægen sagde. OM der fandtes alternative behandlingsformer tilbage i
1978, ved jeg ikke - men jeg ved fra nyhedsgruppen, at de findes idag.
Sørg derfor for at få ordentlig information om alternative behandlingsformer; find ud af
bivirkningerne ved de forskellige behandlingsfromer, og sørg for at være korrekt
beskyttet, såfremt PUVA er/bliver behandlingsformen.
Det værste er, at ligegyldigt hvilken behandligsform, du vælger, så er den ikke
helbredende - det er kun symptombehandling, MF/CTCL er en sygdom du skal lære at leve med
resten af livet.
Det er stadig uvist, hvad der forårsager denne sygdom - så kom endelig tilbage og kik,
for jeg vil fortsat - med hjælp fra Paul Hedrich - holde URL-listen updateret, så du kan
finde de nyeste forskningsresultater og andre spændende, relevante nyheder.
